There are two routes to owning your own cob oven.

  1. You can attend my One Day Cob Oven Workshop where I teach you all you need to know to then build yours at home. 2024 dates shown below, with details for booking.
  2. I can run a workshop at your home over two to three days: you invite friends and family to join in the fun. I supply peels, rake and door kit - you just supply the hungry helpers! Contact me directly to discuss logistics and costs cobovenman@me.com


A cob oven in your garden becomes a focal point and the best reason to invite friends for supper. Start your party by lighting the oven and preparing the ingredients. In an hour you are ready to bake pizza in the heat of around 350ºC. Your guests will love making their own pizza and baking it in around 2 minutes or so. Less is more: top your pizza with tomato sauce, basil and mozzarella or maybe olive oil, salt and rosemary. The aromas are to die for - the woodsmoke adds to the flavours - you've got yourself an authentic pizza that can't be beat!


Continue baking all night or maybe move onto the next course. Your oven is perfect for roasting, so try chicken, fish, lamb, vegetables, kebabs, stews, tarts, pies... anything you desire. Be as creative as you wish: this is cooking with your senses.

Description: A one day Cob Oven Workshop that includes building, lighting, using and caring for a cob oven. We bake our own wood-fired lunch. We build an oven throughout the day, covering materials, techniques and processes. You take home oven plans and course notes. My aim is to inspire and instruct you to be able to build your own cob oven at your home.
